Superb quality cast iron pan. It comes half seasoned by the manufacturer but once you fully season it, it becomes a delight to use. It has very quickly become the go-to utensil for our daily cooking needs. I highly recommend this or any of the Rock Tawa items to anyone wanting to try out cast iron cooking gear. I've bought their appam tava, 6" crying pan, a large cooking pot and this large pan. All these products are A+ quality.

Superb Cast Iron
- Advantages
Heavy Cast iron pan with a solid lid but the casting quality and finish is quite bad with bad surface, pin holes and unfinished surface
- Comment
Unfinished Surface, not so good quality cast product
- Advantages
Cooking with Lid enhances taste of so many south Indian dishes like Upma, Dibba rotti and Uppindi. Lid is perfectly fit to the skillet and keeps steam inside while cooking. Of course skillet is very good for cooking pasta and other varieties of stir fries. But one must prepare one's mind to accept heavy weight of the utensil.
