Post edit: I felt I really needed to make a post edit. While my initial experience was not good , I'm now making perfect, crisp appams. I don't know whether it's because of the batter I'm using , consistency and all, or whether the appam chetty got better by use but right now it's working perfectly.The non stick is too good which is why it is not suitable for making appams. For making appam you need to put batter in the middle and then twirl it around the sides but since it's non-stick the batter doesn't stick to the surface so you can't spread it around for making pefect appams .
