There is smell in the cap's rubber which makes it airtight it might be possible that the rubber used is low grade.First of all there is a petrol like smell in the bottle, but after a thorough wash waiting one week smell is not gone it also changes the taste of water, but after few days I realised that smell was not in bottle but in the rubber of cap which makes it air tight, and as soon as I removed the rubber smell is gone but the bottle is now no more airtight and water drops when you shake the bottle.
