We are a traditional baniya/ jain family and have been used to add asafetida/ hing in all our preparations for decades.We have never believed in the quality that retails at around Rs. 30 - 100 for 20/ 30 grams of it as we know that quality that we look out for is something that we can never get that in that price band.We have a set of traditional shops from where we generally buy this item.This time, we thought of experimenting and looking at the price and description, bought this but to our disappointment and loss, we did not find the quality even at par with the stuff that comes in 1/10th of the price.Even those stuff have some aroma and taste but this was a complete disappointment.It is highly recommended not to buy this product if someone is looking for quality and do not get fooled by the price tag it has.

We are a family of Hing lovers and I think this is the best hing that you can find through regular retail channels. The regular store-bought hing is quite sub-par, and not everyone has the time and energy to go hunting for good hing in local spice markets. Good value for money, and very convenient to order.
